The Surprising Health Culprit in Raw Cookie Dough

Resist the urge to eat raw cookie dough.

While most concerns are over raw eggs in the mixture the real danger may lie in the flour.

Flour doesn’t go through the kind of special processing to kill off pathogens that ingredients like pasteurized eggs, molasses, sugar, baking soda, and margarine do.

When the researchers visited manufacturing plants where the cookie batter was being made their suspicions were confirmed: they found E coli in the samples they collected at the plants, according to the report which was published in Clinical Infectious Diseases.

The higher incidence of baking during the holiday season can increase the risk of contamination.

Use safe cooking, preparation and clean-up methods for healthy celebrations.

Try an intense MMA workout

There are tons of great workouts out there, and everyone needs to find one that fits their goals. If you already in decent shape but want to take things to the next level, think about the programs used by MMA fighters.

MMA World Welterweight Champion Georges St-Pierre is now a legend in the MMA community, and now he’s sharing his training secrets with this healthy workout program.

MMA is more than just a sport or a form of entertainment. It has spawned a new lifestyle approach, and central to that is the sculpted look you see with the best MMA fighters. Women love that look and guys are inspired by it. Looks are important, but this intense program can improve your cardio health dramatically as well.

It’s only attainable, however, if you’re willing and able to undergo an intense workout program. You have to be committed, and you have to be the type of person that sets the bar high. You might not be able to fight like St-Pierre, but you can push your body to the limit and achieve fantastic results.

Celebrities who look great have to work at it as well. Don’t thing they don’t spend the needed time in the gym. They have personal trainers, but this program is even better!

BMI Isn’t the Best Measure of Fitness

Being in shape is more important than shedding pounds for most men.

Measuring BMI only can provide a false assessment of your overall health.

Consult your doctor to make sure that your weight is not causing adverse affects to your cholesterol levels, blood pressure or any other vital measurements of your fitness level.

“In the study group, fitness may be more important than BMI,” says Gillinov, who is also a coauthor of the book Heart 411. “But it is dangerous to generalize.”
Some experts have questioned whether BMI provides an accurate picture of health, since people who are very muscular can have a high BMI without having excess fat. As Gillinov puts it, “LeBron James has a high BMI.”

The HCG Weight loss Miracle is Illegal says the FDA

Over the counter HCG weight loss products have caused a sensation yet have not been proven either safe or effective by the FDA.

The startling and drastic weight loss experienced by users have caused high demand for the products which are selling on-line and in drug stores. The manufacturing of these products, however, are not regulated by any public health governing body.

“These HCG products marketed over-the-counter are unproven to help with weight loss and are potentially dangerous even if taken as directed,” said Ilisa Bernstein, acting director of the Office of Compliance in FDA’s Center for Drug Evaluation and Research. “And a very low-calorie diet should only be used under proper medical supervision.”

The FDA says people on such diets have an increased risk of heart arrhythmia’s, electrolyte imbalance and gallstones. Currently no HCG products for weight loss have been approved by the agency.
